Sorbact – Grøn Sårbehandling!

Sorbact er et sårbehandlingssortiment, som er bakterieadsorberende.

Sorbact-metoden går ud på at patogene bakterier og svamp binder til forbindingen gennem hydrofob interaktion.
 
Fordelene er, at man får en effektiv behandling uden risiko for resistensudvikling og nogle negative miljøkonsekvenser.

Using the principle of hydrophobic interaction to bind and remove wound bacteria.

“ A hydrophobic dressing is a non-allergic, non-toxic alternative for reducing the
microbial load of open wounds without enhancing nosocomial spread, and can reduce
the use of antibiotics. Hydrophobic microorgamisms bind to the dressing, preferably
in a humid environment, and are removed with it. They multiply to quite a low extens
when absorbed in the dressing, and may not produce extracellular toxins and enzymes.
Mechanisms of resistance to hydrophobic interaction have not been described.”
